Privacy policy

Last updated 16 October 2026

IsItOpenToday.co.uk is a static information website. You can use it without an account, and we don't ask for your name, address or payment details. This policy explains what limited information is processed when you visit, and the choices you have.

Information collected automatically

Our hosting provider, Vercel, processes standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request. This is needed to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We don't use this information to identify you.

Your region and theme choices

If you pick a region (England and Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland), or switch between light and dark mode, your browser remembers it in local storage (under the names iio-prov and iio-theme) so answers match your region and the site looks the way you chose next time. It stays on your device, isn't sent to us, and you can clear it at any time in your browser settings. We don't need your consent for this because it's strictly necessary to provide the feature you asked for.

Analytics

We don't currently use any analytics or tracking service. If we add one, we'll update this policy first.

Advertising and cookies

The site doesn't show ads or set advertising cookies at the moment. We may use Google AdSense in future. If we do, third-party vendors, including Google, would use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this website or other websites, and you'd be asked for consent before any personalised ads or advertising cookies are used, as UK law requires.

Emails you send us

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message. We use it only to review corrections and questions, and we don't sell or share it.

External links

Answers link to official store, government and legislation pages as sources. Those sites have their own privacy practices.

Children

The site is a general-audience information service and isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights

UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018) gives you the right to ask what personal information we hold about you and to ask us to correct or delete it. Because we collect so little, in most cases the answer will be "none". You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Changes

We'll post any changes on this page and update the date at the top.
